Technical information
Duct runs are braced in the same way as pipes, but the clamp bears on a rectangular or circular duct section rather than a round pipe. The assembly uses slotted channel struts in a V or single-diagonal arrangement, with clamping plates that spread the load across the duct face.
GB 50981-2014 requires bracing for rectangular ducts with a cross-sectional area of 0.38 m² or more and circular ducts of 0.7 m diameter or more.
